Privacy and cookie policy

Cookies

To make this site work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device. Most big websites do this too.

What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

How to control cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

How do we use cookies?
We use the following cookies on this website:
- "has_js": this cookie proves if the programming language Javascript is enabled in your browser, which we need to deliver fundamental functionalities (i.e. menus, slideshows, YouTube videos) on this website.
- "cookie-agreed": contains the information that you have accepted our usage of cookies for this website.
- "webform-3", "webform-12", "webform-16", "webform-17": each contact form on this website will generate its own cookie as soon as you send us a message through this particular contact form. This information helps us to prevent spam mails.

System logs

Another way to increase the security and your user experience on this website is by logging certains user actions to our database.
The system collects information about (successfully or not) sent contact forms, failed contact form anti-spam ("captcha") validations and (successful or failed attempts to) log-in into the content management backend.
The logged information contains the IP address of the device that triggered the action, the link to the affected page and of course the action or error message.
Those information helps us to notice and repair malfunctions and to limit/block suspecious acitivities by hackers or spam bots.
We purge those information periodically and will never share or sale them to third parties.
